Participation
in the MCS athletic program is a privilege, not a right. The Athletic
programs provided by the school are for the purpose of allowing the student
athlete to develop physical and social skills given to him or her by God.
BEHAVIOR CODE
FOR STUDENT ATHLETES:
Monroe
Christian School believes that all children are created in the image of God.
Because of this fundamental belief, we are also committed to teach our
children to respect and care for one another. We are committed to instilling
the basic principles that will guide the student in appropriate Christian
behavior.
We are
concerned about student attitudes as well as behavior. We believe that as a
child's relationship with God becomes more intimate, their desire to walk in
love towards others will also develop. To help our children in their
Christian walk, we expect our students to work together in a responsible and
Christian manner in all of the school involvements. The following standards
are expected to be followed by our students:
-
Student
athletes are expected to be at every practice session on time. If an
athlete cannot be at practice, he or she must inform the coach or
athletic director at least one day in advance when absence from practice
IS known ahead of time. Failure to do so may result in the coach taking
appropriate action.
-
Student
athletes are responsible for care of school equipment. This includes:
uniforms, balls, etc. Equipment and uniforms must be returned at end of
season.
-
Any display
of offensive behavior or lack of self-control is not tolerated. No
arguing with the referee, teammates, opponents or coaches. Any such
display of anger may result in removal from the game or participation in
the sports program.
-
Proper
sportsmanship is expected of all students and athletes.
-
Student
athletes are expected to maintain athletic eligibility according to the
academic standards.
-
If a
student athlete is absent from school, he or she may not participate in
a practice or game that same day, unless given permission from the coach
or athletic director
